Simon is the writer and producer of Michael Morpurgo’s Private Peaceful. He also directed Fluidity Film’s comedy drama documentary What You Will. He has just delivered the screenplay of Christopher Isherwood's Prater Violet, and screenplay commissions for 2014 include Jane Austen's Sanditon and Helen Dunmore's Zennor in Darkness.
He has wide experience as a producer, writer and director working in film, theatre and TV. He was literary manager at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Drama Development Executive at Tiger Aspect Productions and Artistic Director of Bristol Old Vic.
He has worked with some of the country's brightest writers and directors including Stephen Poliakoff, Paul Greengrass, Stephen Daldry, Melly Still, David Farr and Lee Hall.
His theatre adaptations include Penelope Lively's Moon Tiger touring in 2014, Pride
& Prejudice which was revived simultaneously at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and
The Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis as the 200th anniversary production, Salman Rushdie's
Midnight's Children and Ted Hughes's Tales from Ovid (both RSC), and an extensive
